Located in the heart of uptown Charlotte, Blumenthal Arts is one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit performing arts organizations, dedicated to enriching lives and building community through the power of the arts. Since opening in 1992, Blumenthal has presented the Carolinas’ largest Broadway season alongside concerts, comedy, dance, and immersive experiences across its four theaters (Belk Theater, Booth Playhouse, Stage Door Theater and Knight Theater). The organization engages more than 150,000 students each year through education and access programs, such as The Blumey Awards. It supports local and emerging artists and invests in the development of new works, earning 13 Tony Awards for its co-productions. Hosting more than 1,000 events annually and welcoming millions of guests since its founding, Blumenthal Arts continues to shape Charlotte’s cultural landscape and strengthen the region’s creative economy.
The upcoming 2026-27 season for Blumenthal Arts features an action-packed lineup bursting with iconic stories, audience favorites, new productions, and award-winning titles from Broadway.
The season is a standout mix of drama, romance, spectacle, comedy, and theatrical magic in the PNC Broadway Lights Series. Highlights include the 40th anniversary return of Phantom of the Opera in a revitalized production featuring Maria Björnson’s original design; a new, reimagined production of Beauty and the Beast; the Charlotte premiere of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child; the regional premiere of Oh, Mary!; the Charlotte premiere of Peter Pan Goes Wrong, produced by Blumenthal Arts and staged exclusively in Charlotte; and Buena Vista Social Club, arriving in Charlotte following its Broadway run. The season also includes Dirty Dancing and Death Becomes Her, rounding out a lineup that blends returning favorites, fresh productions and major Broadway titles.
In addition, Blumenthal Arts will also present four Broadway Extras: A Beautiful Noise, The Wiz, Heathers and Jersey Boys.
“When we build a season, we’re thinking about the full experience of what it means to gather in a theater,” said Tom Gabbard, CEO of Blumenthal Arts. “We want shows that get people talking on the drive home, stories that stay with someone for weeks, or a performance that brings a new audience member through our doors for the first time.
“This season gives Charlotte audiences access to some of the most exciting work coming out of Broadway, and when people subscribe, they’re also helping support Blumenthal’s ability to keep bringing those experiences to our city.”
Seven-show season packages range from $330.90 to $1,014.06, all-inclusive of fees and taxes, with the option to add Oh, Mary! to create an eight-show package. Pricing is subject to change.
Beyond the performances themselves, Blumenthal Arts will continue to offer audiences additional ways to engage with the season through storytelling, conversation and community connection, such as Community Cues, a series of free events inspired by each production that offer behind-the-scenes access to guests and explore themes and topics connected to the shows.
Blumenthal Arts season ticket holders will continue to enjoy a wide range of benefits, including:
- Change Your Date – Move tickets to another date and time of the same show, fee-free, up to 72 hours before the performance, subject to availability
- More Choices, More Flexibility – Swap up to four shows in a package for other events in Blumenthal venues
- Pay Over Time – Spread payments over six monthly installments
- Same Seats, Every Season – Renew seats year after year
- Best Seats, Best Value – Access the best available seats on sale before the public
- Early Access – Purchase additional tickets before the general public, and get early access to newly announced shows
- Go Beyond the Performance – Access special opportunities and seasonal experiences throughout the year
For the best seats at the best prices, patrons are reminded to purchase tickets only through Blumenthal Arts. Visit BlumenthalArts.org or contact the Box Office at 704-372-1000.
