Ensemble Arts Philly, the region’s year-round home for world-class performance across the Academy of Music, Kimmel Center, Miller Theater, and The Shubert Organization’s Forrest Theatre, in partnership with The Shubert Organization, unveils an epic 2026–2027 Broadway season that brings Broadway’s most celebrated new musicals, contemporary classics, and beloved world-class productions directly to Center City.
Built around Broadway productions with Broadway-caliber performances and pedigrees, the landmark lineup offers Philadelphia audiences the chance to experience the same titles lighting up New York—without leaving Philadelphia.
“For nearly 170 years, our stages have been where Philadelphians experience world‑class performance in all its forms—from orchestral music and jazz to dance, comedy, and Broadway,” said Ryan Fleur, President and CEO of Ensemble Arts Philly. “This 2026–2027 Broadway season continues that legacy with more than 150 performances across three historic venues, featuring productions created for Broadway, now brought directly to Center City.”

The 2026–2027 season features 14 shows and 157 performances across three historic venues, led by the 2025 Tony® Award-winning Best Musical Maybe Happy Ending, alongside Tony Award winners The Great Gatsby, Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical, Oh, Mary!, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Collectively, the lineup represents a distinguished total of 39 Tony Awards, 39 Drama Desk Awards, 24 Olivier Awards, and 5 Grammy Awards, underscoring an exceptional range of storytelling that spans celebrated masterpieces and bold new works shaping the future of theater.
“We are delighted to bring an exciting mix of Broadway productions to the Forrest Theatre this season, including the Philadelphia premiere of Operation Mincemeat, the return of The Book of Mormon, and the highly anticipated revival of The Who’s Tommy,” said Robert E. Wankel, Chairman and CEO of The Shubert Organization. “It is especially meaningful to welcome the revival of The Who’s Tommy back to our historic theater, where it premiered in 1994 during its original North American tour. Together, these productions reflect the Forrest Theatre’s long tradition of presenting exceptional Broadway experiences for Philadelphia audiences.”
“We’ve curated this season of productions and are excited by how distinct the voice and perspective of each title feels within this lineup,” said Frances Egler, Vice President of Theatrical Programming and Presentations, Ensemble Arts Philly’s resident Tony Award voter and curator of the Broadway series. “Where the operatic grandeur of The Phantom of the Opera and the spellbinding world of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child live alongside the intimate storytelling of Maybe Happy Ending and the bold, contemporary energy of Hell’s Kitchen, you feel the full spectrum of what Broadway is right now. This season was curated to be deeply cohesive, pairing large‑scale Broadway blockbusters with newly acclaimed work, so that audiences can move between spectacular, outrageous, nostalgic, and deeply personal experiences—all within one series.”
“Our Broadway series is designed to offer something for everyone, from family‑friendly new stories like BOOP!® The Musical to productions that lean into more mature themes, including Alicia Keys’ Hell’s Kitchen,” said Crystal Brewe, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Ensemble Arts Philly. “Equally important is how people experience these shows in our spaces: we make attending Broadway convenient with flexible packaging options, new food and beverage offerings like Leo and Curtain Call, and convenient order‑ahead concessions that make it easier than ever to turn a performance into a full night out in Center City—while ensuring every guest can fully participate through American Sign Language and audio description performances and captioning across the season.”
