Based on recent updates from venues, the current national tour of Beautiful – The Carole King Musical will end this month.
The following statement was provided by the Alberta Bair Theatre (Billings, MT), which had only just rescheduled the show to the 22/23 season:
“Due to factors related to COVID and additional incurred costs, going forward with the tour as planned is not financially feasible for the touring company.”
Although it appears the tour will end following its engagement at the Wolf Trap (Vienna, VA) later this month, there is also hope that the tour will resume sometime in the future.
The news piggybacks the same sentiment from the recently-postponed tour of 9 to 5 the Musical. However, based on statements from those involved, 9 to 5 plans on touring in the 23/24 season.
Venues that currently have Beautiful planned as part of the 22/23 season will adjust their seasons accordingly. Any concerned patron or subscriber should contact them directly. See the list of stops the show had scheduled in the 22/23 season below.
At the time of its closing, the tour, which began back in the 15/16 season, will have played at nearly 200 venues, with several return visits.
