Adapted from S.E. Hinton’s seminal novel and Francis Ford Coppola’s iconic film, this thrilling new musical takes you to Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1967, where Ponyboy Curtis, his best friend Johnny Cade and their Greaser family of ‘outsiders’ battle with their affluent rivals, the Socs. The Outsiders navigates the complexities of self-discovery as the Greasers dream about who they want to become in a world that may never accept them. With a dynamic original score, The Outsiders is a story of friendship, family, belonging…and the realization that there is still “lots of good in the world.”

Selling over $75 million in tickets during its first year on the road, the North American tour of The Outsiders recouped its capitalization after just 29 weeks and generated an estimated $320 million in local economic impact. In addition to its commercial success, the production has made a meaningful local impact through The Stay Gold Project, a nationwide educational initiative ensuring that cost is never a barrier to young people experiencing The Outsiders in their city. In partnership with the SONIC® Foundation and private donors, the program has expanded from Broadway to cities across the country, providing approximately 4,000 subsidized tickets to students and educators, while also providing post-show discussions and a comprehensive educational study-guide.
