Big League Productions is thrilled to announce the three actresses who will lead Mystic Pizza: A New Musical, the new production embarking on a national tour that begins September 26, 2026 at the Clemens Center in Elmira, New York.
Based on the beloved movie classic that launched Julia Roberts’ career, this sparkling musical depicts best friends Kat (2022 Jimmy Awards winner Kendall Skye Beccera), Daisy (Chloë Lezotte), and Jojo (Lexxi B Frilles)’s search for love and self-identity as they face life’s many unexpected twists and turns.
Jennifer Werner, the production’s director and choreographer, said, “Kendall, Chloë, and Lexxi are the kind of young performers who remind you why live theater is so exciting. These remarkable young talents bring a fresh eye and energy to this coming-of-age story, adding their own unique charisma, heart, and undeniable chemistry. CHLOË LEZOTTE (Daisy Arujo) is thrilled to be making her touring debut as Daisy in Mystic Pizza. Originally from Bend, Oregon, Chloë is a recent graduate of CMM Musical Theater. Some of her credits include Les Misérables (Cosette), Sweeney Todd (Beggar Woman), and Spring Awakening (Ilse).
LEXXI B FRILLES (JoJo Arujo). National tour debut! Lexxi is a Virginia-raised actress based in NYC. Recent credits include Disney’s Tale of Moana (Moana) and Jersey Boys. BA in Musical Theatre from James Madison University. @lexxifrillz
Mystic Pizza is based on the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Motion Picture with Story and Characters by Amy Holden Jones. The musical is written by Sandy Rustin (Clue, The Cottage) with Arrangements and Orchestrations by Carmel Dean (The Notebook).
With spirited direction and energetic choreography by Jennifer Werner (The Book of Mormon), the original film’s coming-of-age tale is brought to life live on stage as these timeless characters navigate the complexities of friendship and romance—all while slinging slices at a small-town pizza joint. Bursting with laugh-out-loud moments, heartfelt storytelling, and hit songs including “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” “Hold On,” and “Manic Monday,” Mystic Pizza is a joyful celebration of chasing dreams, lifelong bonds, and finding your place in the world.
In addition to Jennifer Werner’s direction and choreography, designs are by Joshua Warner (Scenery), Dalton Hamilton (Lighting), Jen Caprio (Costumes), and Matt Kraus (Sound). Andrew Graham is the Music Supervisor and Casting is by ARC. Daniel Sher is the Executive Producer. Additional casting will be announced soon.
Mystic Pizza was developed by Lively McCabe Entertainment and Concord Theatricals in partnership with Primary Wave Music, McCoy/Rigby Entertainment, and Riverside Theatricals. The show originally premiered at the Ogunquit Playhouse with subsequent productions at La Mirada Theatre, Riverside Theatre, and Paper Mill Playhouse, each to critical and audience acclaim.
