Revealed in conjunction with today’s Broadway in Cincinnati’s 2023/2024 season was the announcement of two new shows: Peter Pan and Clue.
Although more engagements are expected to be announced at a later date, the shows will be presented at the Aronoff Center in 2024, with Peter Pan playing from March 12-24 and Clue from May 14-19. Casting will also be announced at a later date.
Peter Pan
Winner of three Tony Awards in 1955, Peter Pan is based on the J.M. Barrie play. Not to be confused with the 1950 version by Leonard Bernstein or the 1953 Walt Disney movie, this iteration has lyrics by Carolyn Leigh and music by Mark Charlap. Additional lyrics and music were provided by Jule Styne, and Betty Comden and Adolph Green, respectively.
Six Broadway and five TV productions of this version have taken place since the show’s inception, including a 2014 special on NBC starring Christopher Walken. The show last toured back in 2011, lasting for almost two years. And, with Peter Pan Goes Wrong beginning on Broadway this spring, the iconic boy who wouldn’t grow up is making quite the comeback.

Produced by Work Light Productions, Clue is based on the cult 1985 Paramount movie and inspired by the classic Hasbro board game. Although an appearance on Broadway has yet to materialize, variations of the show have become a staple of many local theatres nationwide.
The show is adapted from the original Jonathan Lynn screenplay, by Sandy Rustin (The Cottage, Rated P…For Parenthood) with additional material by Hunter Foster (Jasper in Deadland, Summer of ’42) and Eric Price (A Grand Night for Singing).
Clue had its premiere at Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, PA in May of 2017, and features original underscoring by composer Michael Holland (Godspell), scenic design by Anna Louizos (School of Rock, Rodger + Hammerstein’s Cinderella), lighting design by Ryan O’Gara (After Midnight, Lady Day), and direction by Casey Hushion (Mean Girls, Aladdin).
Synopsis: Murder and blackmail are on the menu when six mysterious guests assemble at Boddy Manor for a night they’ll never forget. Was it Mrs. Peacock in the study with the knife?
