July 18 Updates

Over the past several days, venues across America have added to their previously-announced seasons. Here’s a summary of what’s taken place…

First off, I have made a couple of changes to the site that I hope will better inform you of additions and changes that I make to venues and shows. You can find those updates on the upper sidebar of the homepage. (Normally, I would have made these updates there, but, due to the high amount of additions, it would have been impossible to summarize everything). I have also updated the 2020/2021 Seasons by Venue page, making it simpler to read and easier to find information. I might make a few tweaks to it here and there, but I like the direction it’s going.

Secondly, the big announcement today was that the musical adaptation of An Officer An A Gentleman will be touring starting next year. The show was previously overseas in the UK. You can read the article from today’s announcement here. I’m also expecting touring announcements within the next few weeks from Hadestown, Beetlejuice, and Be More Chill. I anticipate the Hadestown announcement following the final installment of the cast album. I’ve also been told to expect a possible tour for Groundhog Day. When that will become official is unknown.

Now to the summary of announcements. It appears that venues have the case of Christmas in July as several have been advertising those shows to their seasons. Here’s a list of what’s been recently added to the site:

One final major announcement made today was that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory‘s stop in Charlotte (NC) has been postponed indefinitely due to a scheduling conflict. The Knight Center will now be presenting What the Constitution Means to Me (June 23-July 5, 2020).

Stay tuned for any additional announcements!
