As venues across the country continue to modify their 2020/2021 seasons to begin in early 2021, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (Denver, CO) has updated their lineup with the hopes that they be able to begin presenting touring Broadway shows in the new year.

The updated 2020/2021 season at the Denver Center will now begin with the return of Dear Evan Hansen.

The updated schedule is as follows:

In addition, performances of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (December 11-13, 2020) have been cancelled while performances of Moulin Rouge! The Musical (June 10–July 4, 2021) have been postponed. Whether this postponement results in a delay of the show’s tour remains to be seen.

Patrons who had tickets to the previously-postponed performances of My Fair Lady (July 15-26, 2020) and The Lion King (May 13–June 14, 2020) should have received an email with the date(s) of your rescheduled tickets, and your rescheduled tickets are in the same seat locations as your original tickets.

If you need to exchange your tickets into an alternate performance, the center requests that you contact DCPA Ticketing Services at (303) 893-4100. Current business hours are 10am to 5pm (MST), Monday through Friday.

Although the center was able to re-book Mean Girls, they are not transferring previous patrons’ tickets from the old dates (March 25–April 12, 2020) to the new performance dates.

At this time, for season subscription purposes, the center is categorizing all of the above-mentioned shows as being part of the 20/21 season. However, as it appears that 1776 will forgo a lengthy pre-Broadway tour and begin touring in the fall of 2021 (i.e. after beginning performances on Broadway) the show would be classified as being part of the 21/22 season. So, for the time being, we will be placing all shows from 1776 onward into the 21/22 season.

Shows included in the center’s Full Season package include: Tootsie, Hadestown, Pretty Woman the Musical, To Kill A Mockingbird, 1776, Mean Girls, Ain’t Too Proud, and The Other Josh Cohen, which will be rescheduled to a future date. Patrons who purchase the full season package have priority access to Broadway added attractions and new shows, as well as 4- and 8-payment plan options.

The added attractions for the season include: Dear Evan Hansen, Riverdance, Jersey Boys, and Come From Away.
